How does this thing work??

OK this is an experiment...since I told my recent graduate of the Edna Maguire Class of 2011 that his summer assignment was to start a blog I thought I should probably figure out what the heck a blog is before I set him off into the unknown. The main reason was so that he could practice his typing but the end result could be an insight into his young brain. First order of business is a nickname...so that the paranoid husband doesn't freak out. So, if I have to think of names that would suit my number one son it would have to be about his size-he's recently bypassed me in height. I'm 9'9" and his father is 6'5"-this kid has been on a growing spurt since he was 2 years old and there's no slowing down in sight. He's a whopping 5'11" at the ripe old age of 11. The first name that comes to mind is a name that me and my sweet pre-teen friends at San Jose Jr. High back in the 80's had for a guy, named Keith, who was also a giant. We gave him sh*t on a daily basis and hopefully karma isn't going to bite me all these years later. Here goes... The Adams Family was popular back then and the name "Lurch" was born. So, in the hope that this name never jumps from the screen and ends up sticking to him-I'm going to take a chance and from this sentence forward he shall be known as Lurch. The other two shall be called "Thing One" and "Thing Two". Lurch has two 9 year old brothers that happen to be identical twins. They are mischevious little boys with a lot of energy. They loved the movie, The Cat in the Hat, when they were young and the two bushy blue haired devils in red footie pajamas seem to suit them perfectly. I think I'll have them start their own blogs too. I'll have to come up with some sort of bribe to get them to do it every day or almost every day. We shall see how this goes...
